Blame the U.S. Anyway You Can!

There have been more ways to blame the US than I had anticipated! From global warming to oil drilling, every crazy theory has been put out somewhere. Bush and Blair have been blasted for not making statements sooner. The full impact was not known, so it no statement was made. Look at the UN guy who made a statement, and had to eat it...and he was criticizing western nations in general, not the US specifically! As I said in my recent post, the US will lead in the humanitarian efforts, regardless of the ANTI US bullcrap that's floating around the world. I am proud that my country is willing to help countries where signifigant numbers of people cheered on 9/11/01, because it doesn't matter who cheered or not, they're all human beings. We have to help them as much as we can, no matter how much people try to blame us for everything!

FANNIE MAE SCANDAL: HUH?

Most people haven't paid much attention to the financial scandal at "FANNIE MAE", a semi public home mortgage agency. There is quite alot there. It's comparable to Enron, but former chairman Frank Raines is a democrat, so it gets soft-pedaled by the liberal media. This is the story that won't die; it has continued to resurface each time it gets to the next predictable level. Thanks to a Clinton era law, Raines had to personally certify the false earnings statements that are now being restated to the tune of $9 Billion. That's alot of scratch to falsely vouch for. Now after five years screwing up with taxpayer and private money, he is set to receive $1.3 mil a year for life. Oh, and free health and dental care(for life), just in case he can't afford it. The good news is that if you haven't seen this in the media yet, you still might. I'm sure that you will see something about this when the guy gets indicted for his actions, or convicted. People say "it doesn't really affect me, why should I care"? Because these guys are defrauding you and me, the very taxpayers they are supposed to be helping. This is typical of government programs, from the rot in education to the "ponzi scheme" called social security. More on that in later posts.

BLAME for the BLAMELESS

The natural disaster that has claimed over 50,000 lives around the Indian Ocean is already devolving into a sicko media "blame game". If they had a certain type of technology, fewer would have died, it's being reported. This type of occurence is rarer than Mt. Vesuvius erupting, but people still live there without any certain early warning technology. They could just be talking about a kind of communications system to warn the nations whose coastlines are threatened, but it wasn't in place. I'll bet one will be created soon, though this type of thing isn't likely to happen for another few hundred years, now. The extent of the damage and loss of life are staggering, and I know that the US will be on the forefront of nations offering aid and assistance. I hope the media can keep from putting blame on the US somehow for not giving away some undefined "system" or "technology", instead of asserting that the nations of the reigon didn't think it was worth buying because of the small risk of what ended up occuring. Watch the news, and tell me which version you hear reported. Remember the words "natural disaster" whenever you hear the media blame the blameless. No one is to blame for this massive loss of life. We can only pray for those touched by this tragedy.

KWANZA VS. FESTIVUS!

Who remembers FESTIVUS, the phony holiday made up for the "rest of us"? It was a gag on an old TV show, but I think it was intended to make fun of KWANZA, another phony-made-up-type holiday! The only difference between KWANZA and a real holiday like Christmas is that KWANZA actually divides the country by race, where Christmas has become more inclusive over time, reaching out to the point of losing its religious message altogether. Creating FESTIVUS was also a stab at the commercialization of Christmas, of selling it to non-Christians, by a borderline insane TV character. KWANZA was started in 1966 by one Ron Karenga, using divisive racial rhetoric as a stepping stone to revolution. FESTIVUS was a crime of child abuse on the TV character George Costanza, but KWANZA is a crime of abuse on every child who is taught this horrible philosophy. I can just picture Jerry Stiller, the actor who played the man who invented FESTIVUS, fighting Ron Karenga, who is still around, for supremacy in this battle! JUST REMEMBER THAT KWANZA HAS AS MUCH LEGITIMACY AS FESTIVUS! IF THEY BAN CHRISTMAS FROM THE PUBLIC SQUARE, I'LL CELEBRATE FESTIVUS !

ACLU: SCROOGE and GRINCH COMBINED!

The radical secularists, led by the ACLU, are the modern day SCROOGE and GRINCH of the CHRISTMAS SEASON. I have never seen a worse violation of the First Amendment, particularly the "freedom of religion" part, as when someone sues over a public display of a religious holiday. Even if the government pays for the display, it comes nowhere NEAR "establishing" a State religion. This is a bunch of HOKUM brought about by the GRINCH and SCROOGE! We Americans need to call these people what they ARE! Thin-skinned opressors with no core beliefs, who attempt to steal the joy and celebration from people who do have some core beliefs. SHAME ON THEM! They will not win, because the history of America is that the good guys prevail, not the joysucking maggots who would defend the worst evildoers on the planet, but not an honest American's right to express his or her religious views in public. They all deserve COAL in their stockings!

SHOOT ANIMALS ONLINE!

Katleen Parker has a great column which reports on a website called live-shot.com. This site is planning on letting you shoot animals live over the internet, with a webcam attached to a rifle on their Texas ranch! Currently only paper targets are available, but live animals are promised "Once this (ADA compliant blind) and the perimeter fencing are completed". Ms. Parker links this to violent video games, but I'm just amazed that someone is willing to try such an insane idea. It reminds me of a kid who worked at the Capri Motel a few years ago. He suggested we give rooms out for free if the people agreed to be viewed by a webcam on the internet! That idea doesn't seem too far-fetched after reading about this! Anyway, read Ms. Parker's column, and go take a look at the LIVE SHOT website!

LEAVART at ZETTYTWINE.BLOGSPOT.COM!

While I'm having problems uploading my artwork here, my good friend MAGUA is posting some old LEAVART from the '80's on his ZETTY TWINE BLOG, a truly inspirational site! I've given him permission to post some newer stuff, so we'll see how many images he's saved from my emails to him! Hopefully, I'll get the regular WWW.LEAVWORLD.COM website updated, and I can post as many drawings as I like there. BLOGGER definitely rocks, in particular for my political writing! I comment on the COOL stuff at ZETTY, too! Go check it out! The URL is www.zettytwine.blogspot.com

UPDATE: ZETTY TWINE has moved, and the new address may or may not post more LEAV artwork. I refer you to my LEAVART site, or NEXTLEAV, which has collected links to my art.

LEAV was WRONG on PETERSON PUNISHMENT!

In a recent email to friends, I wrote the following: "The only way Scott Peterson gets the death penalty is if they play musical jurors, as they did to get his conviction. He is guilty, but the State of California didn't even give Charles Manson the death penalty. I'm betting it's like NY, where the death penalty only exists in the minds of the politicians who hide behind it, while it never gets enforced." I stand corrected on the Peterson jury. They showed determination I thought they lacked. Will he ever be executed? I'm told the appeals process takes 20-plus years, even if all appeals fail. I still think that some judge, or judges will overturn either the sentence or the verdict, sooner or later. Perhaps this isn't analogous to NY, where the death penalty has been effectively thrown out by the courts. If so, then I'm happy to be wrong, 'cause this guy Peterson deserves to die as much as Manson and many other depraved individuals.

MY FAVORITE LIBERAL

Jimmy Carter 1979 (on the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan): "Leonid Brezhnev lied to me." Jimmy Carter 2002 (on North Korea's nuclear program): "Kim Jong Il lied to me." He is the personification of good (liberal) intentions gone bad. A shining example of the way not to run the government. Now he is with the "Bush lied" crowd, to no-one's surprise. He's still my favorite bleeding heart, misguided liberal.

the Bush Haters: Rather like Nixon

The Depth of the Bush Haters 9/17/04

Many media people made a big deal about the Clinton haters, especially during his impeachment. There were grounds for making the haters the story, when so many of them went over the line. I mean there was stuff out there that Rush Limbaugh wouldn't even touch, though he's mistakenly considered "extreme" by some. The funny part is that the major networks, who participated in changing the message from Clinton to his opposition's tactics, are getting a taste of their own medicine. This time, talk radio and the online community (or blogosphere) are switching the story from Bush's missed medical exam to CBS's history of falsehoods, which always seem to go against the military or Republicans (or big biz). Now, imagine that those same media people who then helped Clinton now hate Bush so much that they let their standards slip, or something. When caught, they cry "the story is Bush is evil, not us!", sounding just like the Clinton haters.
It's been reported that the producer of the story had been working on it for 5 years. What would she do with it after the election? Try to get Bush impeached? She saw Kerry getting his ass kicked, and decided to throw her career away trying, futiley, to save him. If anyone is going to be sacrificed, it's this woman producer, whose name I can't even recall. Even if the producer hangs, what of Dan Rather? His hatred of the Bushes is generational, dating back to his on-air humiliation by then Vice Pres. GHW Bush in 1988. Will he last until his scheduled retirement next year? Has he succeeded, where Nixon failed, at "circling the wagons?". Rather's recent interviews all have been shown to have an obvious bias against Pres. Bush, with no such exposure for the Swift Boat Vets, the bestselling and most outspoken critics of Sen. Kerry. His bias is already hanging all the way out, so I don't see a down side to him coming clean if the documents are proved forgeries. In fact, Rather might come off better if he did a Reaganesque "mistakes were made" speech, coming off as if he didn't know what was going on. Either that or come off like Sen. Robert Byrd, whose history of foibles and biased remarks is overlooked because of his age and his reliable vote against anything Republican. Which one does he seem closer to right now? Call him Dan "Byrd" Rather.
There is some other stuff about this that smells, but it is strictly circumstantial. Dan Rather hosted a Democrat fundraiser in Abilene, Texas, at the behest of his daughter, a local Dem party official. The alleged forged documents were faxed from a Kinko's in Abilene, Tx. Rather interviewed the guy who said that he got Bush into the Nat'l Guard ahead of others, knowing that he was connected to the Texas Democratic party. Did Rather meet him before? How are they both connected to the man who alledgedly faxed the documents to CBS? It's much more interesting than either campaign right now, for sure.
Even the steady uptick of violence in Iraq is not beating this as a news story. This story might even be damaging the public's belief in the media's reporting to the point where they believe Bush more than the media about Iraq, especially with Kerry taking the media's line of "we're losing". It's important to note that Bush correctly predicted the violence to intensify before both the Nov. US and Jan. Iraq elections . The Bush haters have 100 different reasons, many of them contradicting each other, why Bush shouldn't have gone to war with Iraq. The real problem is that decisive action in Iraq is waiting on the US election. Meanwhile, such important diversions as the latest implosion of Rather and CBS deserve at least as much scrutiny as they've given out over the years, and maybe as much fairness in reporting, too.
In the end, this all hurts Sen. Kerry much more than the President. No one thought Bush was a model soldier, while Kerry boldly claimed that mantle in his convention speech. Bush has only said positive things about Kerry's military service, while Kerry has prsonally degraded the President as evading or somehow shirking his duty. This plays into the image of Kerry as someone who can only look good by putting someone else down. Kerry has become a Bush hater, adopting the language of the extremist prevaricators (liars). Bush has condemned all the negative ads, choosing to poke fun at his opponent with Kerry's own words. Who knew that CBS would help put the nails in Kerry's coffin, next to Dukakis, Mondale, McGovern and other heroes of the left? Should Rather join that august pantheon of faded Liberals?

LEAVWORLD

This is where I will post the thoughts that I usually email to all of my friends! Now they can see them open to public review.
